With heavy, sad hearts, the family announces the sudden passing of Keith John Broman, age 69, on May 22, 2025 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.
Keith was a welder by trade and a member of UA local 628, until his retirement in 2018.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung and brain cancer in 2021, fighting a courageous battle for 4 years.
Survived by his wife Maureen Ukrainec-Broman of 38 years., step son Justin Michel (Alicia), grandson Philip, sister Lynda Trelinski, Darlene Taylor, brother Glen Broman and loving first cousins Rod McKay and Judy Neary.
Predeceased by parents Carl and Ida Broman, brother-in-law Dean Taylor and Tom Trelinski, aunts Doreen, Signe, Audrey and Millie.
Keith was a grateful sober member of AA for 43 years. He had many friends in the program and enjoyed helping others.
He and Maureen lived at the family camp on Kabaigon Bay Rd. on Lake Shebandowan for 20 years. He had a passion for fishing and he and Maureen enjoyed countless hours on the lake.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Stanley Hill Cemetery on Saturday, June 21 at 11a.m., officiated by Pastor Matthew Diegel from Our Saviours Luthern Church. He visited Keith regularly and ensured that he was on the prayer list throughout his journey.
We wish many thanks to the staff at the regional cancer centre and the ER. Special thanks to Dr. Ibrahim, Ramchander, and Bezanson. Thanks to the VON for his home visits and Wesway for their support. Also the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital and Southbridge Roseview Manor.
