Keith McWilliam

“Well, it is no joke. I am really dead. I was many things in life, a husband, a father, a grandfather and great-grandfather. I was a mail sorter, a manager of financial services, and even a pilot. I was also a builder, building my own home, camp and co built my son’s home. I’ve done electrical, plumbing, welding, ceramic tile, and lathing, I tried it all. I have had a good life, but when it’s time to go, it’s time to go.” Keith (18 July 1929 - 21 June 2022)

Keith had a rich full life. He survived a plane crash. He was happily married to his wife Lorraine for 62 years. They spent their child-rearing years enjoying tenting and fishing, then camper trailer holidays and road trips. He retired from the post office and built his camp at De Courcey Lake where his family enjoyed 46 summers.

Keith enjoyed playing bridge and shooting a game of pool. He was a Mason with Port Arthur Lodge for 50 years.

Keith and Lorraine travelled to many places and wintered 13 years in Arizona. Keith lived at Chartwell Arundel for 11 years. His special angels Barb Veal, Sue Laatu and many others looked after him with love and devotion. We are forever grateful.

Keith was a funny man with quick wit and great sense of humour. He was well liked and charmed one and all, including his nurses. He is survived by Scott (Liz), Jyl (Frank Barclay) and Gary (Leigh), 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

A service in his memory will be held at Lakeview Presbyterian Church, 278 Camelot Street on June 28 at 3 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Northwest, Lakeview Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
