The family of Kelly Daberer regret to announce her passing on May 8, 2024, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre peacefully with family and friends at her side.

Kelly spent the past 20 plus years working as a lab technician at TBRHSC with the most recent few years working in the Cancer Clinic.  Her main focal point in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time outdoors enjoying activities such as camping, quadding and snowmobiling. Her weekends were spent with friends playing dominos, regular coffee dates with family and friends and cuddling her furbaby Harley.  She was a selfless person who welcomed everyone into her life with open arms.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of Kelly’s co-workers for their kindness and compassion they showed Kelly throughout her courageous battle with cancer. We would also like to sincerely thank the Thunder Bay Regional Staff for providing exceptional comfort and care during this most difficult time.

Kelly is survived by her loving husband Volker Daberer, her son Jason Placken (Breann), her daughter Alysha Placken (Chantel), her stepson Tyler Daberer (Janine), grandchildren Buxley and Jaxson, sisters Donna Ross, Jackie Anton (Kevin) and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Sheila Hardy

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Italian Cultural Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
