It is with great sadness that we, the family of Kenny Tysoski, announce his sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 54. Kenny was a father, husband, Gida, brother, son, stepdad, uncle and friend. Kenny was born in Fort William on July 1, 1963 to Russel and Olga Tysoski. He was the second youngest of brothers Gordon, Gerry and David. His early years were spent living on an Onion Lake Road hobby farm until the family built a home on Tysoski Road, where they lived for many years. Growing up, Kenny also spent time in Manitoba, helping out on his family’s farms. Kenny was known as a master driver. He had his AZ licence and operated all types of vehicles including transport trucks, graders and a service truck. He initially worked alongside his father and brothers in the family business, Tysoski and Sons LTD., learning the skills that carried him throughout his career. Kenny enjoyed working with the Ministry of Transportation, Lucheski Contracting and Makkinga Contracting. He also established his own business, Kenny Tysoski & Sons LTD.  During the last several years, Kenny realized his dream and started another business. Little by little, he built his empire, purchasing equipment from all over North America. He loved his work, always giving the best of himself to everyone, and never considering it to be a chore.

Kenny became a father at 23 years of age to his son Jason, and two years later he welcomed his daughter Amanda, with Susan Adduono. From then on, Kenny was a family man. He enjoyed watching his children explore and learn about the world around them, and supporting their interests and passions.  Kenny met his wife Angela Carter-Tysoski through the friendship of their daughters. From the moment Kenny laid eyes on Angela, he began a speedy pursuit. The two quickly formed a connection that was apparent to everyone. They married in 2007 and shared 13 wonderful years. Kenny often said to Angela, “I’ve won the lottery!” Their two families became one unit filled with love, fun, and dancing. It was also a very proud day for Kenny when he became a Gida to his grandson Grayson, the two sharing a very special bond from the start.

Kenny enjoyed countless hours in “the office” restoring his 1972 Plymouth Barracuda with his good friend and neighbour, Bill Crocker. The pair were so proud of their work, showing it off in car shows and giving special rides to friends and family. Animals were also drawn to Kenny. His care and compassion meant that stray cats often showed up to Kenny and Angela’s home, where they took them in and made them part of the family. He ensured that each member of his family had their own cat. Kenny also loved music, a favourite being Alan Jackson, and was always up for dancing at family get togethers. Kenny was a one of a kind guy with an upbeat personality and an unwavering positive outlook on life, that left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was always ready to help and provided consistent support. Kenny was humble and made everyone feel like they mattered. He was a shining example of living life with the glass half full and seeing the road wide open. We are better people because of Kenny and we will carry on, as he would have wanted us to. There will never be a family dinner, cup of coffee or party where we won’t miss his presence. In a subtle way, Kenny taught us all something – we need to be a little bit more like him. Kenny is survived by his loving wife Angela, son Jason Tysoski (Alison) and daughter Amanda Tysoski (Rob), stepchildren Lanna Carter (Kyle), Sarah Carter (Scott) and Laura Carter (Tyler), grandson Grayson Tysoski, parents Russel and Olga, brothers Gordon (Denise), Gerry (Sandy), David, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24,  2018, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Dominic's Church Redwood Avenue celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi cs.   Visitation will take place one hour prior to the mass at St. Dominic’s Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Northern Cardiac Fund (Cardiac Rehabilitation Program) or the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.
