Kevin Ernest Koski
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Kevin Ernest Koski, age 44 years on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at home with his loving dogs, Shadow and Doyle by his side.

Kevin was born August 26, 1977 in Thunder Bay, Ontario and was raised by his father, Oiva on Pike Lake. When he turned 18, Kevin joined the Canadian Armed Forces. During his service, Kevin completed his trades course as a mechanic and was also a marksman. He was a mentor to many and built some of his strongest friendships through these years. He served through 2 tours in Afghanistan, earning seven medals. He earned the Sacrifice Medal, for the time (as Kevin would refer to it), that he got himself blown up! He dedicated 16 years to his military career, retiring in 2012.

Following his retirement, his time was spent at home with his dad on Pike Lake. They enjoyed many pontoon rides and watching movies together. Kevin was a dog guy and loved his pack, known as the “The Pike Lake Crew” more than anything, there was never a shortage of treats or space to roam the land. Hobo, Lily, Shadow and Doyle were his constant companions and kept him company, especially following his dad's passing in 2016.

If Kevin wasn't puttering around the house with his dogs, then you could find him visiting or helping his friends. When there were big snowfalls, he would drive his plow truck around to lend a hand to those who needed it. He loved his Harley, riding alone or with friends or tinkering with it. He liked his Playstation. He was great at shooting games and liked his excavator simulator so much that he bought a backhoe to really play around with it.

To some he was a brother, and others a friend, anyone who had the privilege of knowing Kevin, knew he had a great sense of humour, a big caring heart and was loyal until the end. We are so lucky to have known him. He will be missed by so many.

Kevin is survived by his beloved fur buddies, Shadow and Doyle; friends, Justin McFall, Brittany Gray, Tristin McFall, Austin McFall, Judy (Fred) Yurchuk, Rob Calder, Tim, Frank (Terra), Terri Otway, Owen Mayhew, Vern, Terry, Michelle and Dolly.

Predeceased by his father Oiva Koski and dogs, Hobo and Lily.

Funeral Services for Kevin Koski will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 10, 2021 in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma. Please RSVP your attendance to this funeral through www.everestofthunderbay.com.

At the rising of the sun and at its going down
We remember them.
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us
as we remember them.
