It is with heavy hearts the family of Kyle Hakanen announce his unexpected passing on July 2, 2018 with his family by his side.

Kyle had a great love for hockey, he played the game with his heart and soul. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School, and was then employed at FRP Systems, it was there that he made the decision to start a career to get his Red Seal Sheet Metal Ticket. Kyle was presently employed with NuTech Metal as a Sheet Metal Apprentice. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed working with all his co-workers and employers, but the most important things in Kyle’s life was his family, his friends, his niece Lily, and the newest member of the family, our puppy Floyd. Kyle had a huge heart and would help anyone when needed. He loved his friends like family.

Kyle will be deeply missed by his loving parents Cathy and Brad, his brother Bradley (Ashley), niece Lily and nana Joyce, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his aunts, Cindy (Wayne), Terry (Gerry), Lori, and Carol, uncle Alan (Cathy), as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Betty and Jim Henry, and Walter Hakanen.

We would like to thank the Paramedics, Fire Department, TB Police, TB Regional Emergency Department, ICU Nurses (Marissa, Lisa and Charles) and Dr. Kovacs, Dr. Blonde, for all their support and understanding during this difficult time. Also many thanks to everyone for all their prayers and kind words.

A celebration of Kyle’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Current River Community Centre, 450 Dewe Avenue.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to Teen Challenge or The Ronald McDonald House.
