L. Keith Johnson
1935 – 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Johnson announces his passing on August 4th 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Keith will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Pamella and his children, Juliet and Patricia (Rod). Keith will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Erik, Lucas, Alexander and Nicholas, by his brothers, Walter (Joan, deceased), Ross (Gloria), and sister Mary Lou (Brian) Verbonac. Keith was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie.

Keith was born February 7, 1935 in Bracebridge, Ontario and grew up in the woods of Muskoka. He moved his mother and siblings north to Ear Falls to join his father and began work with Ontario Hydro in forestry and line work. He met his future wife, Pamella, on the shore of Lac Seul and they married June 30, 1960.

Keith and Pamella were active naturalists imbuing the life of the wilderness they lived in and instilled this love in their daughters, Juliet and Patricia. Keith and Pamella retired in Thunder Bay in 1991, and joined various causes he supported, including The Writer’s Circle. He was a member of the Power Workers Union, and Mason's Chukuni Lodge 660.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 11 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home Chapel, 226 South Syndicate Avenue, followed by interment of ashes in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hilldale Gardens, Laskin Lounge from 2 to 4 p.m. to have coffee and share memories.

The family would like to thank the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. N. Laferriere, Nurse Lori, CCAC Palliative Care Team and the entire staff of Hilldale Gardens.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Keith to Health Services Foundation, Northern Cancer Fund.
