Larry Mutcher
Larry (Lawrence) George Mutcher, age 84 years and resident of Shuniah, Ontario passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2021, at home. He always looked forward to meeting his Lord.

He was born on May 5, 1937, in Morden, Manitoba. He grew up on the farm and learned how to work hard beside his dad. His parents, August Mutcher and Ida Hildebrandt established a homestead and he walked 4 miles to school, uphill both ways as he liked to say. He met Lorraine Erickson in Winnipeg as he completed high school, and they later married. His university path took him through Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and later to Waterloo Lutheran School of Social Work. His work was varied, including pastor, probation officer, social worker, family counsellor, university teacher, and then moved into house construction, and running a sleigh ride business at Murillo’s Silver Spruce Ranch. He enjoyed meeting all who came for fun in the snow. He retired to their self-built house with a great view of Lake Superior. Larry and Lorraine enjoyed lots of things together, especially having friends for coffee, as well as fishing, hunting, riding their motorcycle and snowmobile. He was always willing to help a friend or someone in need.

Larry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine, sons Neil and Dale (Christine), grandchildren Madeline (Brendan), Isaac, and Isla; sister Eleanor Enns and nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by parents August and Ida, and brother Henry, sister Dorothy.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 12:00 noon presided by Pastor David Kimball. Visitation will begin one hour prior.

Due to Covid restrictions, capacity is limited; please call the funeral home at 346-9880 if you wish to attend in person. The service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
