Laura Blanchard (Chartier)

Mrs. Laura Blanchard (Chartier), age 62 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following a lengthy illness.

Laura was born April 17, 1960 in Port Arthur to Marjorie and William Blanchard. She was raised and educated locally and in her youth enjoyed figure skating. She married the love of her life, Gerald Chartier on May 1, 1981 and together they raised two beautiful daughters. Laura was a loving and devoted mother to Karri and Kelly. She loved spending time outdoors, especially blueberry picking. Driving her '29 Model A Ford Roadster was always a thrill, and she and Gerry travelled to many car shows both in the US and Canada, making many friends along the way.

Laura will be remembered by her loving husband of 41 years, Gerald Chartier and beloved daughters, Karri and Kelly; mother, Marjorie Owens and siblings, Marjorie Blanchard (Stan), Sally Day, Nancy (David) Andrews, Elizabeth “Donna” (Stan) Davey, Peggy Oshanek and John Blanchard as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Predeceased by her father, William and brothers Thomas and Christopher.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
