Lauri Toivonen, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He was born at home in Intola (now Kaministiquia) Ontario, on August 13, 1933.

Lauri worked as a bushworker and a carpenter. He built several homes in Kakabeka and Murillo, where he was a long time resident.

You could always find Lauri outdoors where he was gardening, fishing, hunting, or spending time at the trapline. He enjoyed playing the violin, even making some violins by hand, and tinkering in the garage. Lauri was also a long time member and volunteer for the Northwestern Fur Trappers Association.

Lauri is survived by his loving wife, Ilona; his sons Kelvin (Kathy), Donald; grandchildren, Kirsti (Attila), Kurtis (Kendra); brother, Oiva; and sister, Lea; and a large extended family.

Predeceased by parents, Into and Sanni; sisters, Rachel Laukka, Ann Nisula, Toini Kivisto, Aini Rajala.

Cremation has taken place and a gathering will be announced at a later time.
