Laurie Tesolin
It is with heartfelt sadness, that the family of Laurie Margaret Tesolin (Nee Camus) announce her passing on December 6, 2020 after a brief and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Laurie was born on September 4, 1962, in Sydney, Nova Scotia to her loving parents, Marguerite Rose and Phillippe Charles Camus. Laurie was proud of her Acadian culture and heritage and made sure to keep many traditions alive even long after moving to Ontario. Laurie grew up in Oshawa, Ontario with her older brother Wayne and younger brother Steven. They had a wonderful childhood with many great experiences. Laurie’s greatest gift and adventure came in October 1990 when her beautiful daughter Victoria was born. Victoria and Laurie loved to travel the world together and when they were together the laughter could be heard for miles.

Laurie loved being a mother and a best friend to her daughter. In addition, she loved crafting and working in her yard. You would always know which home was Laurie’s because it had the most beautiful looking lawn and garden on the block. Laurie also had a love for birds and dragonflies and she made sure to incorporate them into her garden. Laurie was best known for having the utmost love and care for anyone that stepped into her life. Her daughters' friends always felt right at home when they came to her house. She was the type of person to never judge a soul and always had an open ear to listen. Her kind nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Laurie is survived by her daughter Victoria Tesolin, her brothers Wayne (Betty) Camus and Steven Camus. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews who all hold a special place in her heart, her lifelong friends who she never lost touch with, as well as many others whom she loved deeply. Laurie is predeceased by her parents Marguerite Rose, and Phillippe Charles Camus.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held in the Chapel of Harborview Funeral Centre on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services will be by invitation only. Please visit www.harbourviewfuneral.ca to view the services live at 1:00 p.m. EST, or you may watch it at a later time as it will be archived on the same site.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, staff, and doctors on 1A and the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Centre for all of their care that they gave during Laurie’s brief illness. We would also like to thank everyone who continues to give their love and support to our family during this difficult time.

If you so wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society in memory of Laurie.
