It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful and beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Lee Zaloski (Hawryluk) age 80 years, peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday April 11, 2017.

Lee was born in Manitoba on November 19, 1936. She met the love of her life, William (Bill) Zaloski and they were married on July 14, 1956 at St. Thomas Anglican Church. Soon after, Bill and Lee moved to Terrace Bay where they started their family. Eventually the family moved back to Thunder Bay, where Lee worked at various real estate offices as a secretary. She then went to work in the Emergency Department at McKellar Hospital, until retirement in 1997. This job was a true passion of Lee's. She was so dedicated and proud of her work. Lee was always the first smile patients would see in their time of need.
Bill and Lee were inseparable and loved traveling. Lee's family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each and every one of them and she knew exactly how to nurture and care for all of them. Lee was a fabulous cook and tremendous baker. Recently, she enjoyed her many outings with her circle of friends, especially attending musical jam sessions. Lee had a green thumb and took great pride in producing beautiful flowers. Lee had a heart of gold and would give anything to help those in need. Her constant smile would light up a room and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lee is survived by her daughters Cheri, Lauri (Jeff) Delmo and Andrea (Mark) Hunter; sons Murray (Tracey) and Andrew (Theresa); grandchildren Kirk, Saidia (Max) Ariss, Tahlia, Olivia and Devin Zaloski, Ryan and Jenna Delmo, Grace (Kirstin) Ethridge, Rachel (Klay) and Ethan Hunter. She is also survived by her sisters Liz Biloski and Linda Wiebe as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill (2007); parents Michael and Ann; brother Joe Hawryluk and sister Diane Hawryluk as well as her nephew Barry Hawryluk and niece Sharon Rabideau.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, dedicated staff of the ICU at TBRHSC, especially Dr. George and Dr. Stallwood. Your compassionate care and kindness will never be forgotten.

In accordance with Lee's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in St. Andrew's Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James. Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Lee may be made to the charity of your choice.
