Lillian Gillson, age 100 years, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022, at Glacier Ridge Retirement Home.
Lillian was born on June 8, 1921 in Port Arthur, Ontario. She taught in elementary schools until her retirement in 1982. She loved family vacations, camping, travelling, her church, Harmony United, and spending time with family and friends. Although she taught in Lappe and Nipigon at the beginning of her teaching career, most of her work was with the Lakehead Board of Education. She loved bowling and aquatics, and participated in both into her 90’s. She was also very active in her church.
Lillian will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered her son Ian, her daughters Vaughn and Sheila, and her grandchildren Erika Gillson and Patrick Gillson. She was predeceased by her husband John, infant sons Bruce and Brian, parents Rose and Benjamin Henderson and her brother Cecil Henderson.

Funeral Services for Lillian will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 presided by Rev. Mastard Sakala of Harmony Church at 11:00 am. Visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
Should friends so desire, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of choice.
