Lillian (Lutz) Schnieders
December 8, 1926 - July 14, 2015
Lillian Schnieders died peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Roseview Manor. Lily was born December 8, 1926 in St. James, Winnipeg to the late Emilige and Adolf Lutz.
She was the last of her 10 siblings to be born at home.
Lily moved to Fort William in 1952 to work as a hairdresser before marrying and starting her family. Lily's family and friends were the focus of her life. Her other passions were her needlework, knitting, crochet, bowling, music and dancing.
Lillian is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kristine (Phil) Cameron, daughter-in-law Joni Schnieders (Bert Viljakainen), grandsons Adam Czinkota and Kevin Czinkota (Lauren Payette), granddaughters Whitney Schnieders (Derek Dallaire) and Lauren Schnieders (Ben Daniar), sister Junette (Stu) Taylor of Kelowna, brothers-in-law Walter Devodder and Joe Thomas of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Alice Lutz of Brandon, father of her children Rolf (Nancy) Schnieders, brother-in-law Gerd (Heidi) Schnieders of Germany as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and Germany.
Lily was predeceased by her beloved son Bernie Schnieders, brothers Walter and Robert Lutz, sisters Hazel Nabbs, Herta Devodder, Bunny Woods, Donna Ealing, Shirley Burling, and Helen Thomas.
Many heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Roseview Manor, Dr. R. Johnson, Dr. D, Johnson as well as Jasper Place staff, Superior Elder Care and Best Care for their kindness and care towards Lillian these past few years.
Lillian's family also thanks Trudy Procup, Karen Rutledge and others who helped brighten Mom's days.
A private family celebration of Lillian's life and interment will happen at a later date, in accordance with her wishes. If so desired donations may be made in Lillian's memory to the Humane Society, Thunder Bay Public Library or charity of choice.
