Mrs. Linda Elizabeth Johnson age 69 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, on Friday, May 25, 2018. Linda Johnson, born June 21st, 1948 passed away peacefully at St Joe's Hospice in Thunder Bay on Friday May 25th, 2018 with her children and family by her side.
Linda leaves behind her daughter, Ashley Martens (Eric) son, Derek (Sherri) and wonderful grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler & Jax. Linda was the second youngest of five siblings, Bonnie (Roy), Shirley (Bruce), Rick (Barb), Bernard 'Bunny' (Ola) and numerous nieces & nephews. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael (Roy) Johnson and remained by his side until his passing in 2004.

as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed camping, fishing and especially time spent in her garden. Linda was predeceased by her husband Roy, brother Bunny & parents Margaret & Robert Nixon. Linda was an extraordinary woman who always saw nothing but good in everyone. She was the woman who would sacrifice anything for the benefit of others. Throughout her own personal battle with cancer and ALS, Linda would attempt to mask her own personal pain so she wouldn't upset her family & friends. Linda had many special people in her life however, her grandchildren were her everything. She looked forward to daily visits and outings, however it was the time spent together discussing the little things in life that made her heart swell.
Linda was extremely proud of her children, Ashley & Derek. Despite big or small, Linda would regularly share stories of their achievements with anyone who would listen. She always considered her children her greatest achievement and she was absolutely their rock.
Special thanks to Dr. Skunta for her compassion, the staff of TBRHSC at Hogarth Riverview Manor and the Hospice at St Joseph's Hospital. 'Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever' We will miss you! Funeral services for Linda will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Anne's Mission Church, with Rev. Larry Kroker s.j. officiating. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Linda Johnson will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.
