Livia Nardari, age 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on July 3, 2023.

Livia was born on April 23, 1932 in Breda di Piave, Italy. She was the youngest of four siblings. Shortly after meeting our Dad in 1949, he traveled to Canada for a better life. In 1951 Mom followed, and on October 6, 1951, they were married.

While our Dad worked, Mom stayed home raising three children, looking after the farm animals, and gardens. She took great pride in her vegetable gardens, and there was always enough to feed everyone. Mom loved to knit, and there are many friends and relatives who have had the honour of having received one of her blankets. Mom attended church faithfully every Sunday and was a devoted Catholic.

Mom is survived by three children, Joe (Lynn) Nardari, Antoinette Murphy, and Adriana (John) Geravelis. Her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren were the light of her life, Jason (Alex), Amanda (Jared), Jessica (Travis), Ashlee (Jarrad), Nicholas (Victoria), Christopher (Olivia), Brady (Kaitlyn), Isabelle, Aubrey, Riley, Mila, Matthew, and Leo.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Angelo, sons-in-law Albert Romito, and Kerry Murphy. The family would like to thank Judy and Marie from Bayshore for the excellent care and friendship they gave to our mother over the years. Dr. Scali for being Mom’s physician, and Dr. Simpson for her care and compassion in Mom’s last days. Her granddaughter Ashlee for her devoted compassion and love for Nonna over the years, she was Mom’s guardian angel.

Funeral services for the late Livia Nardari will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7th,  at St. Anthony’s RC Church. Those wishing to attend the service virtually may do so at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wH3OxvG_yY. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Care Group Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
