Lois Michele Mannisto (nee Mirowski), age 72, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 in St. Joseph’s Hospital - Hospice Unit with her daughter by her bedside.

Lois was born July 18, 1946 in Fort William, Ontario. She worked as a cook at many popular locally owned restaurants, and was well known for her amazing soups. She suffered from cardiac problems at an early age which led her to give up working outside the home and becoming a domestic goddess. She catered to her loving husband and their children. Lois was thrilled to become a grandmother at age 45. She soon had 3 more grandchildren that she totally adored. The feeling was mutual. Up until the day she died her grandchildren remained the focus of her love. She cherished their time together be it watching movies, talking about their daily activities or sharing their favourite foods.

Grandma will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 53 years Edward, son Charles, daughter Michele (Robert) Samas, grandchildren Colin-James Samas, Katie-Lee (Andrew) Salomon, Robert-Jay Samas, and Johnathon-Dylan Samas, sister Von Broome, brother Darrell (Elvira) Mirowski, James Mirowski, brother-in-law Richard (Elaine) Mannisto, Tommy Miyata and many nieces and nephew as well as many close friends and neighbours. Lois was predeceased by her parents Bertha and Carl Mirowski, brothers Carl (May) Mirowski, Joseph Mirowski, Graydon Mirowski sisters Judy Miyata, Karolyn Woodgate, Janie and her son Christopher Mirowski.

Friends and family are invited to join together for a celebration of Lois’s life on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Reception Hall of Harbourview Funeral Centre.
