Lorraine Hoffman
Today, we say goodbye to our Mom, Lorraine Bernice “Bunny” Hoffman. She will now be reunited with our Dad, Clifford Newell Hoffman.

Mom was born to Lawrence and Cora King (Anderson) and attended St. Andrews School and Port Arthur Technical High (Hillcrest). She worked at Eaton’s Credit Office as a Bookkeeping Machine Operator and then retired after 20 years of service from the Port Arthur General Hospital as Switchboard Operator.

Lorraine Bernice King (“Roy”) married Clifford Newell on January 31, 1951 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. She enjoyed many night school classes, playing bridge, knitting and cooking (she was a “great” cook!). In later years she enjoyed many winters in Florida and trips to the casino.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Cliff; her mother Cora and father Lawrence; sister June (and Joe) Pomber; brother Russ King and nephews Lorrie and Bill Pomber. She is survived by her three boys Ken (Lucy), Bob (Lyne) and Jim (Antonella); grandchildren Kristen-Lee (Jason Martineau), Mark (Alex), Kyle (Stephanie), Steven (Shawnassie), Chris (Justine), Bobbie-Lyne (Josh), Michael (Kelly) and Brian (Jen); great grandchildren Brayden, Hayden, John and Elliotte as well as many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law and dear friend Diana King.

The family would like to thank the staff at Thunder Bay Regional for all of their excellent care, especially her nurse “Maddy”, who was so great with her and our cousin Kathy King for all the time she spent helping Mom. Thank you Father Luigi for your prayers and last rites.

As she wished, cremation will take place and her ashes, together with Dad’s, will be placed at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a family gathering at a later date.
