Louise Huot (Germain), age 87 years, passed away peacefully with family by her side in Pinewood Court, Thunder Bay, ON on Friday, January 19, 2018.

Born in L’Orignal, Ontario, Louise spent much of her adult life in Rouyn-Noranda where she met the love of her life and raised her family. Later, she moved to Ottawa where she resided until her stroke at which time she joined her daughters in Thunder Bay. Mom loved to travel, sew, watch movies, attend art shows, lectures and auctions. Most of all, she enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida, where she indulged in her passion for swimming.

Predeceased by her husband Gilles and her son Alain.

She is survived by her sisters, Suzanne and Liliane; daughters Christiane (Claude Larouche) and Marie (George Patterson) of Thunder Bay; sons Daniel (Maryse Raymond), Richard and Jean, all of Rouyn-Noranda, QC; grandchildren, Gwenaëlle (Matthew), Jérémie (Allison), Benoît (Andrea), Grégoire and Gabrielle (Neil) and 3 great grandchildren, Félix, Chloë and Pénélope.

Words cannot express our gratitude to the wonderful staff of Pinewood Court (Sandpiper wing). During her nearly 6-year long stay, mom’s care was entrusted to some pretty amazing people at Pinewood including: Doctors Ruby and Steve Klassen, Nick, Kim, Collin, Denise, Chris, Linda, Katie, Ashley, Krista, Erica, Jin, Mark, Vanessa, Maryanne, Dale, Ralph, Leanne, Jonathan, Marichu, Michelle, Cara, Juanina, Suzanne, Judy and the many others who went out of their way to make mom feel at home. On behalf of the whole family and of “Loulou” we say “Merci”.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Louise Huot will be held at 10:00am on Friday, February 2, 2018 in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma celebrated by Fr. Victor DeGagne. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. A Celebration of Louise's life will take place in northern Québec next summer.

If friends so desire, in lieu of cards and flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
