Lydia Derouin (Beardy)

Lydia Derouin

Lydia Beardy grew up in Big Trout Lake but also spent her earlier life travelling to different communities in the north.  She grew up in Weagamow Lake, spent her youth in Madsen, and many unknown parts.

Her life was mixed with good times and hardships.  She was a mother of four children but three of them died since 2015 to 2021.  She leaves behind one surviving daughter and grandchildren from her children.  She had many siblings and they all passed on like her brothers John, Ross, Douglas, her sisters Sapporah and Josephine, and her parents Isaac and Racheal Beardy.  She also lost a grandchild Sincere Beardy in a sudden death.  Her journey had been filled with loss and grief.  As a person in happier days she would be filled with laughter and wanted to have a complete family unit.

She grew up with her many siblings and had fun with her cousins in her younger years.

She had many friends growing up and enjoyed their friendship.  Life brought many changes to her and she spent her last twenty years with Lorne Maenpaa.   She also would occasionally visit her brother-in-law Raymond Adams and her nieces from the Adams family.  She was in contact with her surviving relatives at times.

Due to the Covid pandemic family ties were cut and she continued to survive until she no longer could.  She had relatives in the northern communities and many friends she made in her journey at different times in her life.
