The family of the late Lyla Lewkoski (Hamilton) are heartbroken to announce her passing on August 2nd, 2025 at the Geraldton District Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Lyla was born on November 30, 1938 in Scotia, Ontario. She had a great love of the outdoors, and was proud to serve her community as a fire clerk at the Ministry of Natural Resources for 28 years.

She later met and married her beloved husband of 66 years, Edward Lewkoski. Lyla was a dedicated fire clerk at the Ministry of Natural Resources for 28 years, and a proud member of her church.

Lyla will be remembered for a love of her family, knitting, puzzles and curling.

Lyla is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Lillie Hamilton, her brother Harold Hamilton, Her granddaughter Jewel Acia, and sister Deloris Weber.

Lyla is survived by her Husband, Edward Lewkoski, her daughters Audry (Tony) and Susan (Joe) and Sons David (Susan) and Allen (Sue). She is also survived by her siblings; her sister Ruby Olivier, and her brothers Roy Hamilton and Gordon Hamilton (Marion). As well as her numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Thank you to all the caring and hard-working staff at the Geraldton District Palliative Care Unit involved in Lyla's care.

A memorial service for Lyla Lewkoski will take place on August 13, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Geraldton French Club, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
