Mr. Lynn Merkley, aged 88 years, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Lynn was born in Murillo on March 18, 1927. He was employed by the Township of McIntyre, then with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool 7 for 35 years until his retirement. Lynn and Hannah took up square dancing and they enjoyed travelling and gardening.
He will be lovingly remembered by his four sons: Lynn Jr. (Jackie), Ralph (Yetta), Dennis (Monika) and Wayne and friend Ken. Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Lynn was predeceased by his parents Simon and Marion and by his wife Hannah in 2009.
A funeral service for Mr. Merkley will be held in the Chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:45 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Holroyd officiating, followed by a reception. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening at Jenkens from 6 – 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
