Lyonell Neil Wenzoski

Mr. Lyonell Neil Wenzoski age 61 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in TBRHSC with family at his side on Monday, April 18, 2016.

Born and raised in Beardmore, in his early years he enjoyed the outdoors during all the seasons. He was a very good hockey player in his youth. Lyonell enjoyed being with people socially which included dancing, bingo, and the casino. He was also a very good cook.

He had a special relationship with his mother Marion. Lyonell had worked in the bush for various contractors, Metro Foods, and most recently with Fort William First Nation.

Lyonell was a proud father and was especially pleased with his daughter Krista’s accomplishments in life. Lyonell is survived by his wife and best friend Barbara Hay, daughter Krista (Tyler) Henson and his grandson Landon, his mother Marion Wenzoski, brother Brian (Lauri), sisters Gail Robert and Elsa Shepherdson, stepdaughters Amanda (Will) Scott, Jennifer (Anthony) Kaplanis and Melissa Hay (Will Barry), step-grandchildren Daniel Keefe, Avery Scott, Lexi Kaplanis and Anthony Kaplanis Jr., very close friend Brian Woodbeck, and Krista’s mother Irma Weinrauch. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Lyonell is predeceased by his father Julius Wenzoski, brother Wesley, brother-in-law Kirk Shepherdson and great niece Natasha Marie Duhamel. Vigil Prayers will be offered Thursday evening, April 21, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the St. Anne's Church (Mission Road).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:30am in the Fort William First Nation Community Centre 400 Anemki Drive.  Cremation has taken place and final interment will be at a later date. If friends desire, memorials to a charity of choice would be appreciated.

Lyonell Wenzoski will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
