Mr. Manuel de Simas Macedo, age 71 years, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018, in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Intensive Care Unit, with family by his side.

Manuel was born on June 27, 1947 in Lajes Do Pico, Portugal. He worked with Northern Wood Preservers Sawmill for more than 45 years until it was shut down. He dedicated himself to volunteering at St. Andrew’s Dew Drop Inn, loved entertainment wrestling and spending time with his wife, son and family dog Lucy.

Manuel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Beatrice, daughters Mary Lynn (Kevin) and Maria, son Manuel Jr., grandchildren Kaden and Macen and many loving sister and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Manuel’s life will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Father Luigi Filippini of St. Anthony’s Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Manuel’s memory to St. Andrew’s Dew Drop Inn.
