It is with great sadness that the family of Maranda Lynn “Moose” Morrison George, announces her passing into the spirit world, August 15, 2021 in Ottawa ON, age 29. Born on March 26, 1992, in Thunder Bay, Ont. Maranda is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Nancy Morrison (George), Michael Morrison Sr., Grandpa Joe Nate, Uncles Brian George, Albert Morrison, Glen Morrison, and Aunt Diane Morrison, Cousin Kelly George.

Maranda is survived by her children, Cameron & Aaliya Valle-George, Mother Laurie George, Father Ron Nate, Sister Tamara Morrison, Brothers Christain Nate (Stefanie), Michael Nate and Samuel Nate, Kyle Okees (Larissa), Grandmother Caroline Nate, Uncles Michael Morrison Jr, Joseph Nate, Alex Nate, Aunts Dawna George-Morrison, Sharon Nate, Shirley Nate, Cousins Crystal (AJ), Dwayne, Tyler, Brandon (Callie), Justin, Chooch, Peanut, numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins!

Maranda attended Ecole Gron Morgan and Hammarskjold High School. Maranda was a mother to two beautiful children, whom she was so proud of Aaliya becoming a Jingle Dress Dancer and Cameron a drummer. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved her culture and traveled the pow wow trail with her grandparents and family growing up. Traveling and exploring was something she enjoyed doing. Maranda made friends easily wherever she went, she had a wonderful and bubbly energy that everyone wanted to be around. She always had a smile on her face and was always making jokes. She was a prankster and brought laughter wherever she went. She loved fashion and make-up, was passionate about dogs and loved her dog Tiny, she enjoyed attending concerts and festivals in Ottawa. She had many friends who loved and adored her.

A traditional ceremony will be held at Harbourview Funeral Centre in Thunder Bay, on Friday August 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm with cremation to follow Saturday August 28, 2021. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending the services.
