It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marcel Nigro, age 59, with family by his side on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Marcel was born on April 12, 1961 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Port Arthur Collegiate and continued education at Confederation College and Lakehead University, followed by a career at Children's Aids Society. He was so devoted to his vocation, providing much needed encouragement, inspiration, and compassion to outreach youth in Thunder Bay. His impact on the lives of so many children and their parents in our community will never go unnoticed.

He was adored by so many friends and coworkers for his kind and caring nature, friendly demeanor, empathy of others and incredible generosity. Everyone who knew Marcel were touched by his purity in heart, humility, charm, and incredible sense of humor. Although stricken by an aggressive cancer, Marcel displayed profound courage, for he cherished the gift of life, the company of friends and the deep love of family.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lina, brother Saverio, Robert (Maria) and Frank, uncle Guido and aunt Renata Lepore, father in law Settimio Biscardi, brother in laws Lou (Sharon), Tony (Karen), as well as numerous nieces and
nephews, godchildren and loving cousins throughout Canada, USA and Italy.

Predeceased by parents Michael and Franca Nigro and mother-in-law Faustina Biscardi.

We would sincerely like to thank Dr. David Probizanski, family physician, Dr. Marcus Powlowski for understanding, friendship and advocacy, and all the numerous medical team members including Jessie and Jeff from ParaMed as well as those from the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
