It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Harms on Friday, December 21st, 2018 at Roseview Manor, at the age of 93, with loving family at her bedside.

Margaret was born on May 14th, 1925 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. She grew up working as part of the family dairy business and later went to commercial school. After the veterans return from war she met her husband Earl. They married April 23rd, 1947, soon after moving to Port Arthur, Ontario. She worked as an account bookkeeper at Northern Wood Preservers for many years and was very sharp with numbers and a great memory. She was a longtime member of the Port Arthur Curling Club and was an avid curler up until age 89. Her enthusiasum and active life were an inspiration to all that knew her. She was a member of Current River United Church. She valued being a good neighbor having resided in her family home for 66 years.

Margaret and Earl were Arizona snow birds for 10 years following retirement. Margaret continued her travel adventure having taken trips to Scotland, Florida, Alaska cruise, Maritimes and family visits to Michigan and Saskatchewan. Her recent memories included her family trips to 3 of the Hawaiian Islands. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, golfing, watching sports on TV, doing puzzles and going for lunch and errands with Marion. More recently, she enjoyed spending time with family at camp on One Island Lake and was always devoted to watching her grandchildren’s activities.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by son Rick and Marion; granddaughter Kelsi; grandsons Ryan (Jennifer) and Kevin (Vanessa); great-grandsons; Luke, Kyle and Bryce; and sister Helen Garinger of White Fox, Saskatchewan. Numerous nieces and nephews in Western Canada also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Earl.

Following cremation, a Memorial Service to Celebrate Margaret's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev.
