Margaret came to rest on January 1, 2016. She was born in Scotland on January 18, 1929.
As a wee lassie she moved to the Carstairs farm with her mom and dad, Adam and Mary Gibson. Margaret cherished her siblings Bill, Helen (predeceased) Madeline, Sandy and their families. Their constant loving support helped her during her long battle with illness and with the recent loss of her husband Lorne (May 2015).
Margaret will be missed by family: Brian & Chris Saipe, Brian Jr, Terry, Amanda, Susan – great grandchildren Brian, Adriano & Kayla (Edmonton), Robert & Deborah Saipe – great grandson Kailar (Calgary), Danielle & Wojtek Majchrowicz (Vancouver), Gerrie Hobbs, Debbie Metzler, Lia Paradis - great grandchildren Avory & Envy (Thunder Bay).
She will be remembered as Manager of the Vickers Heights Post Office and Manager of the North Neebing Credit Union. Margaret was a gifted sportswoman, respected community member and enthusiastic performer with the Sweet Adeline’s.
Margaret will be honoured at a family gathering in Alberta in March.
We appreciate the kindness of neighbours, friends, care workers, and the compassionate care given by the nurses at St Joseph’s. With her daughters and Lia by her side, Margaret’s last days were full of her generous spirit and concern for her children, proud memories and her unwavering trust in the loving strength of family.
