It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Maria Menei Dipasquale, a resident of Thunder Bay, who passed away peacefully in her home, on July 29th, 2016 at the age of 75 years.
Born in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo, Italy on May 10th, 1941, she moved to Canada in her late teenage years. With love in her heart she spent time in the kitchen and raising her eight children. She enjoyed walks to her favorite hang outs and the company of her family.
Maria will be sadly missed by her children: Dario Menei (Kathy), Rivo Menei (Karen), Livia Stachiw (Terry), Carina Bedour (Richard), Dino Menei (Victoria), Clara Csori (Frank), Enzo Menei (Sue), Rosanna Menei (Walter), twenty-five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also survived by her two brothers Giuseppe Dipasquale (Rosanna) and Justin Dipasquale (Gilda), as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her mother Carina Dipasquale, father Pasquale Dipasquale, grandson Enzo Menei Junior, and great granddaughter Mila Gamache.
Funeral Services for the late Ms. Maria Menei Dipasquale will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, 123 Hilldale Road, Thunder Bay, on Friday, August 12, 2016 with Mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini.
The family would like everyone attending the funeral service to join them after for a luncheon at the Italian Cultural Centre, 132 Algoma Street. A private family interment will be held at a later date as per Maria’s wishes.
A donation to St. Anthony’s Church may be made in Maria’s memory or flowers may be sent to the church should anyone so desire.
Her smile will forever be in our hearts.
