Signy Marilee (Marils) Moland passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 22, 2016, at age 74. Marilee was born August 18, 1942 in Port Arthur, Ontario to James and Nonnie Johnston. In her youth there were many summers spent at the family camp at Shebandowan. She was an accomplished skier & golfer. She attended business school which led to her career as a bookkeeper at Red River Service and later the Ski Haus.
In 1988, Marilee married her best friend and soulmate Bruce Moland. Together they enjoyed travelling to warmer climates, skiing and golf adventures. Bruce and Marilee built their dream home on the banks of the Kam River where they took great pride in their yard. Marilee enjoyed entertaining family and their many friends; she was the consummate hostess with an amazingly infectious smile.
Marilee found her inner artist and dabbled in folk art and watercolours until her health would no longer permit her to carry on her passion. For the past few years Marilee suffered from chronic illness but managed to never lose her keen sense of humour.
Marilee was predeceased by her parents James and Nonnie Johnston and husband Bruce Moland.
She is survived by children David & Jackie Suttie, John & Barbara Suttie, Cheryl MacKinnon and partner Ted, Mark and Lucinda Moland, Clarke and partner David, grandchildren Amanda and Mitchell; Ashley, Kate and Julianne; Thomas, Alexander and Jordan; Hannah and Megan; brother Jim and Marlene Johnston as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert N. Green cousin and care giver, for all of his love and support during her last four years.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Marilee Moland will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street.
