Mario Cervi

The family of Mr. Mario Cervi wish to announce his passing on January 27, 2019 at the TBRHSC Transitional Care Unit at Hogarth Riverview Manor. Mario was born in Alvito Frosinone, Italy on July 19, 1926. Mario married the love of his life Maria in January 1950 and they had one child, Gerry. Mario worked hard to support his family. 

In 1962 an opportunity arose and the family immigrated to England until 1979. By this time, Gerry had his own family so Mario and Maria immigrated to Thunder Bay where he worked at the Airlane Hotel until his retirement. Mario enjoyed working in his garden and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren Piero and Amanda and later the great grandchildren Dante, Isabella, Olivia and Chiara. He is survived by his loving wife Maria, son Gerry and numerous other relatives here and in Italy. He is predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with prayers starting at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Mr. Cervi will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church with Father Michael Mahoney officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be appreciated.
