Marion Laura Dorota passed away suddenly on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her home.
Marion was born in Fort William and attended St. Peter’s School and Westgate Secondary School. She also attended and graduated from Confederation College with a certificate in Mental Health. She worked for Patterson Steamship Line for many years as a cook, then worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital in the dietary kitchen.
Marion is survived by sisters Jennie Gerlach, Ann Bobyk (Jack), Joyce Simpson (Gordon), brothers Joe Dorota (Marilyn) and Ed Dorota. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Josephine and Lawrence Dorota, sister Helen Baysarowich, nephews Rick Baysarowich and Ken Bobyk.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. A private family interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Humane Society would be appreciated.
Marion Dorota will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.
