Mrs. Marjorie Leatha (Gray) Jeffery, of Isabella Retirement Living, formerly 1745 Murray Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in her 99th year.  Marjorie was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, May 25th, 1915, daughter of Mabel and Bartholomew Gordon Gray.  She acquired her education there attending Central School, Collegiate Institute and Technical and Vocational High Schools.  She worked for 13 years for the Norman F. Patterson Jewelry Store until her marriage to Cecil J. Jeffery on October 25th, 1947, at which time they moved to Thunder Bay (then Fort William).

Marj was a past officer of Doric Chapter #86, Order of the Eastern Star of Sault Ste. Marie, past president of the Ladies Committee of the Fort William Country Club, past president and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to McKellar General Hospital, and a volunteer in the hospital coffee shop for many years, as well as the Gift Shop, and a past member of the Auxiliary to Hogarth-Westmount Hospital.  Jeff and Marj were members of the Fort William Country Club for over 50 years.

Marjorie was an avid golfer and bowler and, during her younger years in Sault Ste. Marie, ice-skating and roller skating were her great pastimes.

Predeceased by her ever-loving husband Cecil J. (Jeff) Jeffery, mother and father, Mabel and Bartholomew Gordon Gray, uncle Wallace Stewart Major and wife Helen, uncle John Neil, grandparents Susana and Thomas Major and Rose and William Gray, and brother-in-law Elwood Jeffery and wife Lee.

Survived by nephew Bill and wife Betty Jeffery (Texas), and cousins Diane and husband Stan Brokenshire (Agincourt, Ont.) & family, Patricia Major (Collingwood), and Douglas & wife Georgia Major (Fonthill, Ont.) & family.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in First-Wesley United Church with Rev. Scott Gale officiating.  Interment will follow at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery.  If friends desire, donations to CNIB, Northern Cancer Research (TBay) or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Marjorie Jeffery will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
