It is with heavy hearts that the Fox family would like to announce the sudden passing of Mark Hamilton Fox on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

Mark was born on September 5, 1973 at the Thunder Bay McKellar Hospital. He was a member of the Bearskin Lake First Nation and lived most of his life in Thunder Bay. He was a great supporter to his family and friends. He was known as “friendly with a great sense of humor to everyone he met.” Mark will be sadly missed by family, friends and his team, Michikan Lake Mavericks.

He is survived by mother, Sheba Fox, Father Elvin Trimble (Loretta); children Keon Fox and Larissa Buchan; brother Tim (Joanne); sisters, Kim Trimble, Jennifer Linklater (Vernon), Corinne Fox, Grace Fox and Donna Trimble. He had a close relationship with his brother n’ laws, Mike Fox and Larry Baxter. He loved and cared for his many nephews and nieces as his own and will be missed by his great nieces and nephews. He had a huge family on his Fox side from Bearskin Lake First Nation and Trimble side from Gull Bay First Nation.

Mark had a passion for hockey and his team the Michikan Lake Mavericks. They attended the Northern Bands hockey tournament, NAFN Tournament of Champions and the Goodwill games every year and numerous other hockey tournaments throughout the North. His passion was so great for the game of hockey that he would drive to Dryden or Sioux Lookout to play a game and head right back to Thunder Bay. He was known to mentor up and coming young players and helped out with equipment or sponsor for those in need. He was said to be “a great hockey player, not just skill but all heart.”

Mark is predeceased by his grandparents John and Georgina Fox and Granny Trimble; his sister Brenda Lychowyd; and, Aunts, Uncles and cousins from both sides of the family.

Celebration of life will take place on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 South Syndicate Avenue. Burial will take place after the service, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. At this time, there will be no visitation allowed (not at the funeral home, nor cemetery) and only online condolences can be made. The Fox family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind messages of support; and, the delivery of food for his mom and wood for the sacred fire. Meegwetch.
