Martti Kullervo Bjorn was born in Viipuri, Finland on March 26th, 1938 and died at St. Joseph's Hospital on March 23, 2023. He came to Canada with parents and siblings in1952.

As a young man Martti was never idle, doing various jobs until he obtained an apprenticeship at Abitibi Provincial Paper Mill from which he became an electrician, remaining with that company until his retirement. During that time he was able to help many friends with electrical work, also building an addition on the family home and two beautiful summer cottages complete with saunas. He was a very accomplished carpenter. Many years were spent there in the summer where he was most happiest.

Being an avid fisherman, Martti had many fishing trips which included a few fly in trips with family or friends. Fall hunting was a must, as well. Myra and Martti had many memorable vacation trips over the years, plus wintering in Texas. Martti was a quiet man who loved his family and once he got to know a person had quite a sense of humour. He was the last of the original members of the Reipas Sports Club for which he played soccer. Bowling, cross country and downhill skiing, plus baseball and curling completed his sports repatory.

Martti leaves behind wife Myra, sons Ken (child Kam), Geoff and wife Diane (Mitchell and Hayden, sons). Relatives in Canada and Finland. Predeceased by his parents Jouko and Katri, as well as four younger brothers, Paavo, Seppo, Andy and Esko.

The family wish to thank the physio department at St Joseph's Hospital and 4 South staff, especially Kati for excellent and compassionate care.
There will be a graveside service in the spring. A notice will be in paper.
