It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Martin Lamarre on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 39 years of age, of Thunder Bay, ON.

Marty loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping with friends and family. His love for the outdoors developed at a very young age, spending summers at the family cottage on the French River where he would spend countless hours fishing at the end of the dock, hunting with his father every fall, and took every opportunity he could to go camping with friends.  He loved the outdoors so much, he even worked outside more often than not, having worked as a carpenter for many years with Sakiyama Brothers, thoroughly enjoying each new project.

He was a devoted, adoring father, taking great pride in all his son’s accomplishments, seeing Gage through each new challenge with amazing strength and adaptability, all the while maintaining a very special and supportive relationship with Gage’s mother Sabrina.

Marty was a strong positive influence in his nieces and nephew’s lives, enjoying many great times with them.

Marty is survived by his mother Paulette Lamarre, sisters Claire Galvin (Patrick), Michelle Lamarre (Sylvain Richard), son Gage Lamarre (mother Sabrina Kennedy), nieces Juliane, Jaelle and Anabelle, and nephew Kyle, as well as many aunts and uncles.  He was predeceased by his father Daniel Lamarre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marty’s name to Children’s Aid Foundation of Thunder Bay.

A Celebration of Marty’s life will be held at the Airlane on Saturday, April 22, from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m.
