With great sadness, the family of Mary Dika (Auntie Mary) announces her peaceful passing in hospital on August 19th.

She was born Sept. 1, 1933 in Fort William and attended St. Peter’s and St. Patrick’s high schools. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Kellough’s Dairy Cow Palace Stores and then retired from Loudon’s. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish and the C.W.L. She was a kind, generous lady who loved to share her “melt in mouth” shortbread. For many years Mary enjoyed her rummoli club with June, Jackie, Susan, and Susie.

She is survived by brother Emil Gresko (Jeanette – Corine (Don), Dean, and Lisa), sister Geraldine Luzzi (Ken – Andrea (Marc), Donata (Scott) Keith (Bonnie) and Janine (Wes). Also survived by great nieces and nephews – Audra, Deidra, Ryan, Dylan, Jacob, and Tyler, Lexi (Will), Sydney (Ryan), Quinn, Devin, and Xaden. Also surviving are nieces and nephews – Bob (Donna), Laura and Andrew Gresko. Eleanor Ashe, Richard (Lynda) Ezack, Larry Ezack, Barbara Rivers, Leon (Pat) Checkryn.

Predeceased by Philip and Maria Gresko, John and Cecelia Dika, husband John, in-laws Paul and Cecelia, Mary, Leon and Ann, Teresa and Joseph, brother Philip, sisters-in-law Audrey and Ruth, nieces Gisele and Donna, nephews Lorne Ashe and Rudy Ezack.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations made to Northern Cancer Research or charity of choice would be appreciated. Mary will be missed by all.
