Mrs. Mary Hargreaves, age 83 years, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was born on November 16, 1931 in Slate River Valley. Mary worked from the age of 14 in the food service industry, retiring from Grandview Lodge in 1982. Mary was an adherent of the Westfort Baptist Church and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kakabeka Falls Branch #225.
Mary loved knitting and created many treasures for her family. Mary and her husband Cliff enjoyed spending time together travelling and camping.
Mary is survived by her three children Linda Beck, Ron & Darcy Hargreaves of Conmee and June & Doug Buchanan of Kamloops, BC; sister Flo Backus; brother-in-law Stanley (Shirley) Hargreaves of England; seven grandchildren Donna Beck, Lori Fletcher, Tessa Ulakovic (Kyle), Chantal & Cole Hargreaves, Doug Jr. & Shawn Buchanan; twelve great-grandchildren Danielle & James Gregory, Brent Ryan Fletcher, Troy Dumonski, Nathan, Jacob & Levi Ulakovic and Christopher, Jessie, Bobbi Jo, John & Mya Buchanan as well as one great-great-grandson Damien Gregory.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cliff, her parents Vernie and Percy Hilton, brothers Bill, Bob and Allan Hilton and her grandsons Robin and Kelly Beck.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, with Rev. Allan Piper of Westfort Baptist Church officiating. Visitation commences at 10:00am with the service beginning at 11:00am. A family only interment will follow in Stanley Hill Cemetery.
