At sunset a beautiful soul found peace and is once again dancing with her husband and the Angels.
Born in New York, during a family vacation, the family returned to Saskatchewan and then eventually settled in Fort William with the addition of two more siblings.
Mary worked for the Grain Exchange early on, then became a homemaker after the birth of two children. Mary was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, decorating Easter eggs in the traditional way, and made many cross stiched and embroidered pieces. Mary lived with multiple sclerosis for seven decades and was involved with the MS Society with the May Carnation Campaign. In 2004, Mary was the MS Mother of the Year.
Mary was a gifted story writer – of childhood experiences and of poetry published in “Broken Wings”.
Mary always had a big smile, sunny disposition and positive outlook. Faith in The Lord gave her strength and an infinite capacity for love, acceptance and forgiveness.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter Phyllis, niece Carole Komistek, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Marlene Kuch, and nieces and nephew Alyssa Fehr, Gillan Murza and Galen Kuch and families. Also survived by dear lifelong friend Mary Derkatch.
Predeceased and reunited with husband John, infant son, sister Natalie Komistek, brother Walter Antonishin, parents Michael and Teodosia Antonishin, and brothers-in-law Bill Kuch and Sam Kuch.
