Mrs. Mary Waplak, age 67 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in St. Joseph's Hospice, with family by her side. 

Mary was born in Cisnadie, Romania on August 5, 1950. She met and married the love of her life, Jerry Waplak on September 27, 1969. The two never left each other and shared close to 41 years of marriage together, until Jerry's passing in 2010. Mary worked for many years in the Deli at Workers Co-op and met many people during her time there. She enjoyed knitting, trips to the casino and bingo. Mary will be missed by all of her family and friends and especially, her beloved cat Mia.

Mary is survived by her children Tina (Darren) Milani and Bradley Waplak (Jodi Frenette); grandchildren Aiden, Ashley, Caelen and Alysa; her mother Victoria Pascolo and sister Laura (Thomas) McRury as well as her niece Serena McRury (Josh) and their son Jerzey and niece Nerissa McRury (Zack). She is also survived by her half brothers Roger (Susanne) Senn and Freddy (Regula) Senn both of Switzerland; sister-in-law Annie Gojic (Joe) and brother-in-law Walter Waplak (Lenore). Numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jerry; her father Luigi Pascolo and brother-in-law Henry.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. A private interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery at a later date. If friends so desire, donations made in memory of Mary to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
