Matt Malazdrewicz

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved son, brother, and grandson at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Thunder Bay, ON. Matt passed peacefully with his mom at his side and his dad and siblings with him in spirit.

Matt was born in Winnipeg, MB and welcomed by his loving parents, Mike and Bev, 2 months later. Over the next 6 years he became big brother to Rebecca, Josh, and Katrina. Matt attended school at St. Augustine School and was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church.

Matt was a very talented competitive gymnast as a youth and as an adult he transferred his talent to juggling. Matt travelled extensively throughout North America delighting audiences with his shows as a street performer. His claim to fame was riding a 10 foot unicycle while juggling burning torches! He generated smiles and laughter whenever he performed and was passionate about always being the best performer possible. Matt did not have an easy life, but his incredible resiliency and determination enabled him to have many wonderful experiences and adventures. Despite the challenges and distance between them, Matt’s love for his family was unwavering

Matt is survived by his parents, Mike (Kathryn) in Brandon, MB,and his mom, Bev, in Okotoks, AB. His sister Bekah (Norm) is in High River, AB; while Josh (Leah), and Katrina are in Okotoks, AB. Matt is also survived by his nieces Brooklyn Unger, and Mikayla and Emilyn Malazdrewicz; his Dziadzi, Edward Malazdrewicz in Brandon, MB.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt was predeceased by his loving Babcia, Muriel Malazdrewicz and his grandparents Elsie and Johnny Bachinski. Our hearts are breaking but the family is comforted in knowing that Matt is now at peace in the loving presence of the grandparents who he loved so much.
