After high school he worked for the Remnant House as a flooring installer for many years. He then worked on the “Incan Superior” Ship hauling cargo from Thunder Bay to Duluth Superior. Later on, he was employed at Northern Woods Sawmill for a number of years. Michael was a man with a giant heart who would do anything he could to help anyone he could.
He was a fighter, but lost this battle. Michael is predeceased by his Father Harm in 1988 and his brother Jack (Jake) Spithoff in 1997. He leaves behind and will be sadly missed by his daughter Tamarra Spithoff, mother Tina Spithoff, brothers Peter, Harold, John (Cathie) Spithoff, sister Amy Schilling, nephews Richard, Nick and Phillip Spithoff, Cory and Jake Schilling, nieces Jacklyn and Katelyn Spithoff, and also numerous great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place on Friday December 22nd from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Blake Funeral Chapel, and service will be held on Saturday December 23rd at First Christian Reform Church on Arthur St. commencing at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens prior to the funeral service.
