Michelle Beardy-McKay

Michelle Renee Rose Beardy-McKay passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on April 8, 2017. She was born on May 11, 1983 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 

Growing up she moved between Sioux Lookout and Bearskin Lake, living with her mother and grandmother. Michelle gave birth to two beautiful girls now ages 9 and 6 years. Michelle married John McKay on December 19, 2011 in her home community of Bearskin Lake. Michelle loved to be with her family, especially her children, and with her friends. 

Michelle received her diploma in 2014 at Confederation College for Native Child and Family Services and she briefly worked for Dilico Anishinabek Family Care in 2014 until she was too ill to continue. 

She was a member of Christian Fellowship Assembly Church in Bearskin Lake and she attended other churches and prayer services when she was able. 

Service and viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 10 am to 12 pm at Jenkens Funeral Home in Thunder Bay. Michelle will be flown to her home community of Bearskin Lake after services at Jenkens Funeral Home. There will be further services held in Bearskin Lake until her interment.
