Miranda Louise Meekis, aged 31 of North Spirit Lake, Ontario passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2022. She is survived by her parents, Marshall and Rosaline Campbell, her children Robyn and Kian, sister Kelsey Campbell, brothers William Campbell, Jordan (Atayafie) Meekis, Corey (Taylor) Rae, sister Maria Meekis, uncles, Eddie Meekis, Homer (Agnes) Meekis, Wesley Meekis, Toby Meekis, Roy Meekis, aunts, Donna Campbell, Deborah Rae, Sheila Skead, Stephanie Skead, nieces, Keira, Nora, Savannah, Erin, Alileeyah, Jenna, Cora, nephews, Christian, Keifer, grandparents, Abraham and Penina Massan and numerous cousins.
Miranda was predeceased by her grandmother Theresa Meekis, grandfather Wally Meekis, sisters Rosemary Kakepetum and Rosaline Meekis, partner Robbie Ombash.
Miranda Meekis was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario on December 25, 1990. She was raised in North Spirit Lake, ON.
Miranda loved her children and all children she came into contact with. She valued her family. She was caring, had a wonderful sense of humor, was always ready to help others in need and was available at any time. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved boating, fishing and was active in volleyball.
A Service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Harbourview Funeral Centre at 3:00 pm in Thunder Bay, ON officiated by Pastor Sebai Yaman, with Visitation to be held one hour prior. A wake and funeral will be held in North Spirit Lake with the burial taking place in North Spirit Lake First Nation.
The family would like to express a thank you to the Chief and Council of North Spirit Lake First Nation, Adrian Lawrence, Nishnawbe Aski Nation, NAN Hope, Keewaytinook Okimakanak, NAPS, the searchers, family, and the community residents of North Spirit Lake who supported us during this time.
