Mr. Morris (Moe) Zyla, age 79, passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC on Sunday, April 12, 2015.

Moe was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay and worked for the City of Thunder Bay Telephone Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1991, and was a member of IBEW Local 339. 

He enjoyed supporting and attending the various activities of his grandchildren, he also enjoyed bowling for many years with the C.N.R. bowling league.  He and his wife, Jo, enjoyed Vegas trips and shared a love of golfing.  Moe was a lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan and in his younger years enjoyed playing baseball.

Moe is survived by his wife Josephine “Jo”, (nee Tucnik) whom he was married to for 57 years, sons Gordie, Randy (Jodi), daughters Renee Mascarin (Paul), Jolene Klajncar (Ed).  Grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Evan, Kaylie, Kimberly, Keana and Gianni.  Also numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Rick in 1980 and parents Mary and Joseph Zyla, and siblings.

There will be no service per Moe’s wishes, family and friends are invited for a gathering at Blake’s Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or the Charity of your choice will be appreciated. A sincere thank you to all the Dr.’s and nurses at the TBRHSC and also St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care.

Morris Zyla will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
