Mr. John Dulude, age 85 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Bethammi Nursing Home with his beloved family by his side.

John was born near Chapleau, Ontario on June 8, 1932, the second youngest in a family of eight. The family followed the father, a railway employee, as he worked along the line. John, as a young adult, found his way to Marathon, Ontario where he met Dorothy Swanson whom he married, together enjoying the next 63 years.

While in Marathon, John worked for American Can, James River Corporation as a blacksmith until he retired in 1994. His interests and hobbies included fishing, trapping, hunting and umpiring baseball. He was an avid hockey fan. He enjoyed many friendships in his hometown of Marathon.

John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; children Brian (Janet), Jean Koivu (Eric), John (Brenda) and Pauline Allan (Robert). He was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Francisco Blazek. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.
