Mrs. Nan Gordon-Lahti

Posted

Mrs. Nan Gordon-Lahti, age 64 years, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospice in the early morning hours of Wednesday December 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born and grew up in Marathon, Ontario.

After moving to Thunder Bay Nan worked for many years as a dental hygienist. Her patients may remember her as the blue eyes above the mask as she took care of their teeth. She was married to the love of her life, David Lahti, also known as “Sumer”, who predeceased her.

Nan enjoyed camping and was very involved with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her niece Lana Davison (Geoff) and her children Jack and Alex, niece Melanie Morrow (Louis) and her children Meagan, Riley and Sydney, step-daughter Arlene Lahti (David Norris) and their son Revan, step-son Jonathan Lahti (Mya Cormie) and step-daughter Leia McKay and her daughter Zoe Lahti. She was predeceased by her husband David, her parents, sisters Marilyn Green and Donna Pearson, brother-in-law Wayne Pearson and step-son-in-law Kol McKay.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Mrs. Pat Kuper and her family. Without Pat’s help and daily support Nan would not have been able to stay in her own home for so long.

A celebration of Nan’s life will be held on January 3, 2017 from 11 a.m until 2 p.m. in the Georgian Room of St. Joseph’s Heritage. Expressions of sympathy to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
