Mrs. Nadia Poddubny, age 81 years, passed away at her residence on May 21, 2016. She was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1952.
In 1953 she married Michael Poddubny and together they raised 4 children.
Nadia loved life and all it had to offer. She had a gigantic personality in a tiny body and was not afraid to voice her opinion. One marveled at her ability to have everyone in tears with her joke telling and how she could out dance anyone.
Nadia enjoyed to socialize and had a special place in her heart for children. She took great pleasure in gardening and flowers and was known for making the best perogies on earth.
She loved animals, from her pet crows Wilma and Fred, to all of her numerous pet grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughters Mary (Marcel) and Irene, son Peter (Leanne), grandchildren Jamie, Jordan, Joseph, Jacob and Carter, brother John, nephews John and Shawn, and of course ‘Cat’.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael and son Walter. As per Nadia’s wishes a small family gathering was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Donations in her honour can be made to the Fort McMurray Fire Relief c/o The Red Cross.
Arrangements are in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street.
