NETTIE HULL (nee DACIW)
(1923-2016)

Nettie passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Kensington Gardens in Toronto.

Nettie was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross, Ladies of St. Anne’s Society, 55+ Center and long time organizer for drivers of the Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels and Dawson Court. Friends and family will remember Nettie as a quiet woman who loved to be around people.

She was always keeping in touch with relatives across Canada.  Favourite memories were of family reunions in her town of birth, Sheho, Saskatchewan, travelling with her mother to the Middle East, and extended trips throughout Europe.

Much loved pastimes included fishing with the family, gardening in her backyard and cooking amazing family dinners. Family was always essential to her being.  Her dinner table was full and that was the way she loved it.

Later, at Kensington Gardens, her fondest moments were at the dinner table, eating and laughing with her friends. Nettie will always be remembered for her kindness, loving honesty, accepting ways, and her positive good nature.

Loving mother of Russell Hull (Margaret), Margaret Thatcher (Peter), and John Hull (Linda), daughter of the late William and Mary Daciw.  She was the sister of the late Nick Daciw (Doris) and Terry Johnston (Frank) and sister of Martha Keller, Lucy Hunter (Ray) and Wanda Laagus (Marty).  She was the proud Grandmother of Jason, Cory, Krista, Melanie, Jeff Hull and Christian Thatcher.

Great Grandmother of eight, and aunt to many children scattered across Canada.  She loved her caring cousins. Nettie will be lovingly remembered by Arlene Markow, her dear friends Russell and Eleanor Romanick, and her devoted caregiver Tenzin Dechen.  The family sends special thanks to Dr. Goldstein, Nurse Practitioner Shauna Taylor and the wonderful staff of Kensington Gardens.

Funeral services for Nettie, will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, with family and friends assembling in the Church of the Holy Cross, for Funeral Liturgy at 9:30 am celebrated by Fr. Yuriy Tykhyy. Interment to follow in St. Andrew's R.C. Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening, in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St at Algoma, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, with Panachyda (prayers) offered at 7:30 pm.
