It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Roch Pilon age 90 years, announce his passing. He left us peacefully on Feb. 02, 2015 with his daughter Beverly at his bedside. Roch was born on Dec. 25, 1924 in Hearst, Ontario to Joseph and Mathilda Pilon.

When Edible Oils closed in the mid 1960's, he again applied the same strategy to learn supply chain management and build a second career with the Lakehead Board of Education from which he retired. In retirement,Roch and Eleanor enjoyed travelling and gardening but his primary focus was always his home and family.

His learning continued as he read voraciously on the natural sciences, physics and mechanics as well as Canadian history. His interest in the military started as a cadet in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Squadron #84-1943 and he was an Avro Arrow enthusiast. He and Eleanor also enjoyed square dancing in past years as members of the Red River Reelers and were founding members of the Intercity walking group "Shake, Chatter and Stroll".
